Working with logistics partners, we benchmark, deploy, and test our AI technology aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions and improving operational efficiency.
We are seeking a Software Developer (Full-time or Part-time) to deliver the software and systems integration components of the trial — from data collection and AI benchmarking to deployment and testing in live logistics environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deploy APIs and software interfaces between partner systems and the AI platform (“Wizard of Oz” trial setup).
* Integrate and optimise the AI models into the operational trial environment.
* Support data collection and pre-processing, ensuring high data quality and interoperability between systems.
* Collaborate with the team and customers to test and validate system performance.
* Engage and communicate effectively with customers and external organisations to understand system needs, gather feedback, and ensure smooth integration of technical solutions.
* Document system workflows.
* Monitor and refine system performance during the live trial phase, ensuring reliability and usability.
* Support environmental impact assessments through accurate data tracking and system logging.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
* 2-3+ years of professional experience in software development.
* Experience using git workflows to manage code reviews, automated testing, and deployments
* Proficiency in Python, JavaScript (Node.js/React), or similar modern languages.
* Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating third-party systems.
* Understanding of data processing pipelines and data interoperability (JSON, CSV, SQL).
* Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-partner project team.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with AI/ML model deployment (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
* Experience in the design and development of front-end systems in a highly ambiguous environment.
* Experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain systems.
* Understanding of sustainability analytics or carbon impact measurement.
* Knowledge of data governance, ethics, and GDPR compliance.
* Experience working successfully with team members and customers at remote locations
* Experience with Agile software engineering practices
* Experience in working with design professionals
