School Business Manager - Primary School, Haringey
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
Full-time, long-term role - Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
* Lead on financial planning, budgeting, and resource management, ensuring value for money and effective use of funds.
* Oversee school HR functions, including recruitment, contracts, payroll, and staff welfare.
* Manage premises and facilities, ensuring the school environment is safe, secure, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Ensure statutory compliance in areas such as safeguarding, GDPR, and procurement.
* Work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to support strategic planning and school improvement.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including the Local Authority, contractors, and suppliers.
* Oversee ICT, administration, and office management functions, ensuring efficient systems and processes.
* Support the Governing Body with accurate reports and financial data to inform decision-making.
About you / Qualifications
This role requires someone with excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills who can contribute to the continued success and development of the school. The successful candidate will have proven experience working as a Business Manager or Bursar in a school setting, with a strong understanding of financial management, HR, premises management, and compliance within education.
