We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts and food preparation, with a particular emphasis on meat cutting and processing. * Responsibilities
* Prepare, cut, and process various types of meat according to specifications.
* Ensure all meat products are stored correctly to maintain freshness and comply with food safety regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the butchery area, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
* Assist in inventory management, including tracking stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfil meat orders for menu items efficiently.
* Provide guidance on meat selection, preparation techniques, and cooking methods to kitchen staff.
* Stay updated on industry trends related to meat production and culinary practices.
* Prepare and cut meat products, such as beef, poultry, and frozen seafood, according to customer specifications
* Trim excess fat, remove bones, and portion meat into desired cuts
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, tools, and equipment
* Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure product quality and prevent cross-contamination
* Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies
* Collaborate with the store team to ensure timely preparation of meat products for display
* Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and fulfilling special request
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Butcher with minimum experience of 5 years
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation.
* Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cutting techniques.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
* A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to high-quality food production.
* Relevant qualifications in culinary arts or butchery.
