We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to become part of our talented Kitchen team at the exclusive Ballygally Castle Hotel.

The successful candidate can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends.
The salary for this full-time position is £25,738 per annum.

About the role
To assist in the supervision of the kitchen to ensure the Hastings standards of preparation and presentation are maintained.
* To assist in the effective supervision of kitchen employees ensuring an efficient operation and service.
* To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
* To ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood and implemented, and daily checking procedures are fully applied.
* To ensure company policies relating to stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored.
* To ensure the junior Kitchen team receive the appropriate training and coaching to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
* To ensure the junior Kitchen team work to Hastings standards, providing feedback to deliver effective and efficient service.
* To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments and suppliers to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.
* To ensure the security of kitchen and storage areas is maintained.
* To ensure the kitchen areas, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained.
* To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
* Any other duties as required.

Required Criteria
* Right to Work in the United Kingdom
* Good communication skills
* NVQ level 2 or the equivalent in Food Preparation and Cooking
* Hold a recognised, current Food Hygiene Certificate
* Excellent attention to detail
* A professional appearance
* Previous experience at a similar level
Desired Criteria
* Educated to GCSE Standard or the equivalent including English and Maths
* Prior experience in a hotel or restaurant environment of quality
