Cold End Engineering Mechanical Engineer Days Irvine Plant Role description The main purpose of this role is to provide an engineering service to the plant, in particular maintain, oversee and manage cold end equipment and provide exceptional assistance to optimise factory performance, allowing the production of quality glass for containers. Responsibilities: Maintain, monitor and improve cold end bottle handling from Lehr discharge to Palletiser discharge, as well as respond to problems on the Lehrs and Cold End Sprays Monitor commercial ware losses and identify the cause of the issue either by equipment set up or bottle features requiring attention from other departments, making setting adjustments or passing relevant information onto the appropriate personnel Assist and support with job changes and demonstrate flexibility to support a 24-hour operation Maintain departmental records to establish and maintain a well-informed team Required skills / qualifications: The desire to demonstrate the company core values at all time Working towards or achieved a qualified recognised Mechanical engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent) The understanding of glass container terminology and fault awareness, commitment towards continuous improvement Excellent communication and relationship building skills with a commitment to teamwork and the confidence to work under pressure and use their own initiative to problem solve and support the Cold End What we offer: Salary Minimum £32,520 - £40,085 maximum per annum Salary sacrifice pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions 37 hours per week with option of condensed working hours, plus 26.5 days holiday 8 statutory holidays An environment where we support the development and progression of our employees, tailored to the individual’s aspirations and business opportunities Private Healthcare provided by AXA Health and wellbeing initiatives, such as Occupational Health and cycle to work scheme Family friendly policies and Company Sick Pay, after qualifying period Role Profile available on request.
