Contract Type: Substantive (Permanent) or Fixed-Term Considered
Salary: £105,000 – £139,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Are you a dedicated and forward-thinking Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine? This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing critical care team at one of the Midlands’ most respected NHS Trusts, based in Burton.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive environment that champions clinical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
About the Role: As a Consultant in Intensive Care, you will:
Deliver expert care across a 9-bedded critical care unit serving a busy district general hospital
Lead on the management of complex critically ill patients, including those requiring advanced organ support
Contribute to the delivery of 24/7 consultant-led critical care services, including a full-shift pattern and out-of-hours cover
Work closely with Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and Medical specialties to provide seamless integrated care
Engage in clinical governance, audit, and service development initiatives
Support the education, training, and supervision of junior doctors and wider MDT colleaguesWhat We’re Looking For:
Full GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT)
Dual accreditation with Anaesthesia or another relevant specialty is welcome but not essential
Extensive experience managing Level 2 and 3 patients, including emergency admissions and post-operative care
Strong team-working, leadership, and communication skills
