Specialist Housing Officer (Sheltered Housing) Location: London, site based Contract: 12 weeks to start (extension potential) Pay: £22.18 PAYE / £28.21 Umbrella Requirement: Advanced DBS (essential) We’re looking for a Specialist Housing Officer to join a sheltered housing team in London for a London Borough Council. You’ll be the friendly, reliable first point of contact for older and vulnerable residents—making sure their homes and communal areas are safe, clean, and welcoming. You’ll support residents with tenancy issues, help them settle in, and encourage a great sense of community.
What You’ll Do Provide day-to-day support to residents, helping them maintain their tenancies and access the help they need. Work as part of a small team focused on making life better for older people and those who need a bit more support. Make sure communal areas are up to scratch—secure, well-kept, and comfortable.
Report repairs and organise a handy-person for jobs that residents can’t do themselves. Encourage and organise social activities, using communal spaces to help residents stay connected. Oversee viewings, new tenant sign-ups, and any tenancy changes (like name changes or successions).
Spot tenancy breaches (e.g. anti-social behaviour or unauthorised subletting) and work with the manager to resolve them. Welcome new residents and answer their questions about thei...
