We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team at Worcester City Neighbourhood Mental Health Team.

Job Description
The Worcester City Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NMHT) underwent Community Mental Health Transformation in 2021. Our approach is person‑centred, trauma‑informed, and aimed at improving access, reducing fragmentation, and supporting meaningful lives within communities.
The team provides accessible mental health care, supporting adults with a range of needs including severe, complex, and enduring conditions. Responsibilities include:
* Accepting referrals for working‑age adults aged 17 and over from inpatient wards, GP practices, and secondary teams;
* Managing a caseload of 15‑20 patients, delivering psychosocial interventions such as Crisis Safety Planning, Emotional Management, Distress Tolerance, Anxiety Management, Early Warning Signs/Relapse Prevention, Behavioural Activation, and Sleep Hygiene;
* Facilitating a Managing Emotions Group and preliminary psychological work such as DBT;
* Participating in twice‑weekly referral meetings and monthly team meetings for education and administration;
* Coordinating with primary care, social care, voluntary sector partners, and community services for integrated, recovery‑focused care;
* Ensuring timely access to NMHT services, meeting the 28‑day referral target.
Person Specification
Qualifications – Essential
* Full Registration with the General Medical Council (or eligibility for full registration at time of appointment)
* MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
Experience – Essential
* Minimum of 12 years medical work (continuous or aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification, with at least six years in a relevant specialty, in line with the 2021 Specialist Grade Contract
Knowledge – Essential
* Relevant clinical experience in adult psychiatry
* Knowledge of appropriate medical, pharmacological and psychological treatments in General Adult Psychiatry
* Understanding of the NHS and evidence base underpinning high quality service delivery
* Understanding of the importance of excellent team working relationships
Skills & Abilities – Essential
* Ability to work across teams and disciplinary boundaries in a collaborative style
