Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Van Driver/ Yard to join our team at Bexhill.
The Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Van Driver/ Yard Operative to join us in ourBexhillbranch. Efficient loading of vehicles and making deliveries to sites and customers. Collecting and/delivering goods to and from other branches.
Undertaking various other driving jobs required in relation to the efficient operation of the business.
Assisting in the yard area with deliveries and assisting customers where necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties
Driving Duties
Deliver building materials to customers using a company van (3.5t or similar), ensuring safe and legal driving at all times.
Plan efficient delivery routes in line with schedules provided.
Ensure all goods are correctly loaded, secured, and signed for.
Provide excellent customer service upon delivery, resolving minor queries where possible.
Yard Duties
Assist customers in locating and loading building materials.
Safely load/unload goods from supplier vehicles and customer collections using forklifts (if licensed).
Maintain yard organisation and cleanliness, ensuring materials are stored safely and correctly.
Carry out regular stock checks and report shortages or damages.
Follow all health & safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
Full UK driving licence .
Experience in a similar role within a builders’ merchant, construction, or trade environment (preferred but not essential).
Good knowledge of building materials and products (desirable).
Forklift licence (counterbalance) desirable but training may be provided.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform manual handling duties.

* Monday - Friday 07:00-17:00
