Position Overview
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an ST1/2 in Urology at Southend Hospital. Southend University Hospital has specialised Urology Cancer Centre providing prostate, bladder and kidney cancer surgery across Essex.
Responsibilities
* Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff
* Attend to the day‑to‑day management of day case, out‑patient and in‑patients
* Attend and participate in ward rounds and operating theatre sessions as timetabled
* Attend general and specialist out‑patient, diagnostic and preassessment clinics
* Teach medical students as directed
* Supervise, monitor and assist FY doctors in posts with an attached FY
* Take part in rostered emergency work
* Keep up to date with all administrative duties including letters, results and discharge summaries as required
