Job Summary
As a Category Manager for Chemical, Paint & Gases in Marine Technical Procurement, you will work closely with our technical, New-building, operational teams and suppliers to define and deliver cost-competitive, differentiated solutions to the Royal Caribbean fleet of Cruise vessels.
You will be a key contributor to the continued development and implementation of the category strategy with a strong focus on optimising the operations. You will build a broad network and collaborative relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders, implementing our category strategies and support various stakeholders as well as being involved in innovation and retrofit projects.
Key responsibilities
1. Support new-building projects and ongoing maintenance with innovative procurement solutions
2. Building and executing on the global category strategy to ensure best in class safe, reliable and cost optimal operation
3. Manage internal and external stakeholders to create partnerships that support our strategies
4. Engage with suppliers to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure supply chain reliability
5. Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to understand project requirements and technical specifications
6. Drive cross functional projects to deliver on our ambitious year-on-year cost and value generating targets
7. Establishing and applying cost modelling concepts, spend & demand analysis, and evaluations
8. Addressing day to day operational queries within your area of responsibility
Work Environment
9. Up to 25% domestic and international travel as necessary
Qualifications and skills Required
10. Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement or technical sales & marketing within the maritime, transport or other relevant industry
11. Good understanding of marine chemical, paints & gases and industry standards
12. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
13. Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
14. Proven track record of delivering cost-competitive, differentiated solutions at scale
15. Strong commercial mindset and a keen problem solver with a strong personal drive
16. Beneficial BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar
