What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a full time Special Educational Needs Co‑ordinator (SENCO), whose main purpose will be to:
 * Deliver the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school
 * Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co‑ordination of specific provision to support all Highfield pupils
 * Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
 * The SENCO will also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document
We may also consider applications from QTS teachers with SEND experience looking for career progression, who are willing to complete the SENCO qualification. A four‑day week may be considered pro‑rata Monday to Thursday for the right candidate.
