The University of Bradford International College (UBIC) is an established partnership between the University of Bradford and Oxford International Education Group.
The College provides international students with pathways to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Bradford, and we expect to see around 400 students enrolled on our courses in 2025-26. We are currently expanding the range of courses on offer and looking to build on our success to date in providing students with a supportive, engaging and effective learning experience.
To continue to improve the quality of our courses and support the development of our staff, we are recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced Core Subject Lead for Business and Management. As one of three Core Subject Leads and a member of the wider academic management team, you will work closely with Programme Leads and Tutors to improve key performance metrics (pass rates, progression rates and student satisfaction scores) across our four programmes.
* Level 3 – International Foundation Year and Year Zero
* Levels 4 and 5 – International Year One and Year Two
* Level 6 – International Pre-Master’s
You will have substantial relevant experience, the knowledge and skills to teach on a range of modules within the Business and Management portfolio and the professional confidence and inter-personal skills needed to support the development of colleagues involved in delivering Business and Management modules.

Main duties and responsibilities
Leadership and People Management
* Line‑manage up to three Tutors in line with corporate policy and ensure any performance issues are promptly and effectively addressed.
* Foster a professional and collaborative working environment to enhance the quality of the student learning experience and the overall teaching‑learning environment.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of academic policy and plans, and attend relevant meetings as required.
* Support Programme Leads in developing and coordinating the delivery of relevant core subject modules. Coordinate the provision of additional subject support as required.
* Support Programme Leads in planning and arranging (re)assessment including invigilation, production of assessment paperwork and marking.
* Support internal quality assurance, validation, and accreditation processes by coordinating module reviews and change requests, and providing input for annual programme reviews.
* Support the Academic Director and Programme Leads with recruitment and induction.
* Work with the Academic Director and with Programme Leads to develop and deliver a professional development plan for college teaching staff (all programmes).
* Provide coaching and support for colleagues teaching relevant core subject modules.
Student Support
* Support Programme Leads with new student induction.
* Provide academic and pastoral support to students as required, referring them to appropriate support services when necessary.
External Stakeholders
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with UoB colleagues (e.g. Programme Leads, Link Tutors) External Examiners and OIEG Teams (Academic Affairs, Teaching Quality).
Teaching
* Teach up to 15 hours of timetabled classes a week during term‑time.
Person specification
Legal status
* Appropriate DBS disclosure
* Eligibility to work in and travel freely in the UK
Qualifications
* A first university degree in a relevant subject
* MA in a relevant subject
* A recognised teaching qualification
* PGCE (with QTS) (Desirable)
Experience and knowledge
* Substantial relevant teaching experience in UK further or higher education
* Experience of teaching business and management‑related subjects at Level 3 and/or Level 4
* Experience of providing coaching or training for teaching staff
* Experience of teaching international students
* Experience of teaching using a range of effective strategies and classroom approaches.
* Experience of teaching on a university pathway programme (Desirable)
* Ability to relate to international students and understand their needs.
* Flexibility and adaptability
* Excellent inter‑personal and communication skills
Other requirements
* A commitment to working collaboratively with teaching and non‑teaching colleagues.
* A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
* Confident user of classroom ICT and O365 tools.
* Experience of using a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) (Desirable)
