Role Responsibility Kent County Council is looking to recruit a Commissioner for a fixed term 12-month role to cover maternity leave. The Commissioner will work in the Integrated Health Commissioning Team to support the Senior Commissioner, Public Health Consultant and Infant Feeding Commissioning and Strategy lead to scope, co-design and commission Children and Young People’s service. It is expected that this role will have a focus on infant feeding services whilst also supporting wider Children and Young People’s and Health services. The commissioner will be flexible to support the wider Integrated Health Commissioning Team as required in line with business need. The Commissioner will play a key role in ensuring that the local authority commissioning activities are evidence based and provide value for money to meet the needs of the citizens in Kent. They will work closely with the Senior Commissioner and the Commercial Team to ensure their agreed portfolio of work meets the council’s processes and policies. The post holder will be responsible for the professional delivery of all commissioning activities within the commissioning cycle and will join the team at a time of mobilisation of new service contracts. Applicants should possess a high level of organisational skills with the ability to work at pace, prioritising their workload to meet deadlines. This role is hybrid: working from home with an element of office working from Invicta House in Maidstone or other local KCC offices. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
