Camau Tirion are Looking for a confident, experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader/ planning co-ordinator to join our Over 2's team. As room leader you will oversea the day to day running of the daily routine ensuring the highest of standards of care, education and safeguarding are met for our 2-4 year old children. The successful candidate with ideally have Level 3/5 Early Childhood Education or Childcare (e.g NVQ Level 3-5 or equivalent) and 2 years previous experience working in a nursery setting.
Welsh speaking is desired but not essential.
There are school runs so a driving licence and access to a car is required.
Knowledge of planning, carrying out observations & assessment in line with the curriculum for wales and Flying start standards along with NMS is essential.
Training and support can be provided if need be.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a room team to deliver high-quality care and early education, fostering a safe, secure, and engaging environment.
* Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning, development, and well-being.
* Supervise and support nursery staff within the room, providing mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
* Act as the key person for a group of children, building strong relationships with parents and carers, and maintaining accurate developmental records.
* Ensure compliance with all nursery policies and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene protocols.
* Monitor children's progress and contribute to planning meetings and reports, ensuring individual learning journeys are updated and shared.
* Support transitions, both within the nursery and as children prepare for school, by liaising with parents and professionals.
* Maintain a positive team environment, promoting collaboration, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development.
* Attend staff meetings, training, and development sessions to stay current with early years best practices and statutory guidance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 or above in Early Years Education or Childcare
* Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an early years setting, ideally with some leadership responsibilities.
* Strong understanding of child development and the Curriculum for Wales
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and staff.
* Proactive leadership qualities, including team motivation, delegation, and conflict resolution.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant childcare regulations.
* Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
* A genuine passion for nurturing young children and helping them thrive.
