Personal Assistant
Location: Llanfyrnach
Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour
Hours Offered: 4 hours a week term time (up to 45 miles at £0.45 per mile); 8 hours a week school holidays (up to 90 miles at £0.45 per mile).
Work Pattern: To be agreed at interview.

The Direct Payments Recipient (the Direct Payments Recipient is the employer, and they hold all the employer’s responsibilities associated with this role. Pembrokeshire County Council supports them to fulfil their employer obligations).
Job Description
A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support their son who has additional learning needs. The successful applicant should be patient, kind and caring.
Responsibilities
* Develop trusting, supportive relationships with the family.
* Learn and attend therapy sessions.
* Initially support the parents outside of the home to build up support for their son.
* Be patient, kind and caring.
* Demonstrate emotional awareness and support towards the person’s needs.
* Provide support with stimulating activities.
* Spend time understanding the person’s specific needs to support effectively.
* Ensure the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
* Mind safeguarding issues and report any concerns to the relevant authority.
* Contact the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if the employer needs medical assistance.
Person Specification
* Caring and patient.
* Responsible and honest.
* Proactive and self‑motivated.
* Has good local knowledge.
* Good time‑keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties.
* Excellent communicator.
* Able to develop a supportive and consistent relationship.
Other Requirements
A full, clean driving licence and use of a car are required. Business use must be covered by your vehicle insurance to use the vehicle within work hours.
