Job Summary
At GM Performance Power Units, we are pushing the boundaries of motorsport engineering to develop the first American-built Formula 1 power unit. We are looking for an agile and highly organized HR Assistant to support our world-class operations. In this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for the seamless execution of day-to-day HR logistics, meticulous data management, and rigorous audit readiness. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional with 1–3 years of experience to contribute to an elite racing program where administrative precision is just as vital as track performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Logistics & Scheduling: Coordinate calendars, room bookings, and scheduling for interviews, orientations, meetings, and training sessions.
• HRIS & Data Management: Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and generate standard reports (e.g., headcount, attendance, and basic metrics).
• Records Management: Manage the full lifecycle of physical and digital personnel files (from offer letters to termination records), ensuring they are organized and audit-ready.
• Audit Support: Pull and prepare documentation for internal audits, legal requests, and government inspections.
• Confidentiality & Compliance: Ensure strict confidentiality and compliant separation of medical and sensitive information.
• Policy & Document Control: Maintain a central library of current HR policies and forms, tracking employee acknowledgments and ensuring version control.
• General Support: Assist with ad-hoc HR projects and general administrative tasks across the department as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 1–3 years of administrative experience, with at least 1 year in a dedicated Human Resources setting preferred.
• Computer & Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Outlook). Hands-on experience using an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) such as Dayforce, Workday, or ADP to enter data and pull basic reports is a plus.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, managers, and external teams.
• Extreme Attention to Detail: Essential for spotting missing documents, auditing files, and entering data without errors.
• High Discretion and Integrity: The ability to handle sensitive, confidential employee information daily without breaching trust.
• Strong Organizational Skills: The ability to juggle shifting priorities, from emergency scheduling changes to long-term filing projects.
