The Role
Our placements provide an opportunity to really learn how a business works. During your placement you will be hands on from day one, you will be actively involved in business projects, and your experience and knowledge will be utilised and strengthened during the 13 months with us. You’ll be based in our Weymouth office, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real business outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Support with General Ledger Accounting including:
o Closing/opening of ledgers
o Calculate accruals and prepayments
o Preparation of monthly Management accounts and reporting packages
o Agree intercompany creditor balances at month end to prepare balance sheet reconciliations
* Support with Accounts Payable including:
o Processing of purchase invoices using SAP
o Liaising with suppliers and other departments to resolve invoicing discrepancies
o Reconciliation to supplier statements
* Rotate around various Finance functions to include topics such as:
o Inventory management
o Budgeting and forecasting
o Fixed asset management
o Monthly accruals and prepayments
o Account reconciliation
o Financial reporting
o Cash posting
* Participate in team projects on an ad‑hoc basis
* Assist with internal and external audit queries
Qualifications
* Current student studying for a degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar subject.
* Confident with basic maths functions, such as percentages.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Possess excellent attention to detail.
* Well‑organised and excel at time management.
* Understand the importance of internal controls.
