Night Warehouse Section Manager - Competitive Salary - Nelson, Lancashire
About the role
The purpose of the role is to ensure a safe and efficient operation of your designated area of the Despatch Operation. You will develop and manage your team to complete the required tasks in a timely manner to achieve a ‘Tour Ready’ Warehouse and optimise output to the highest quality.
What you will do:
Health and Safety / Food Safety:
* Ensure that standards of health and safety, hygiene and security are maintained.
* Ensure that all warehousing HSE and legislation requirements are adhered to.
* Educate and coach the team to adopt and embrace Health and Safety and Food Safety standards and procedures, ensuring safety and quality are never compromised.
* Develop customer focused, food obsessed approach to product quality ensuring required standards are achieved at all times.
Process:
* Work closely with the Quality team to ensure that products are to spec, ensuring timely feedback and action of any errors.
* Ensure effective handover and communication with the day shift operation to ensure opportunities to collaborate are optimised.
* Review daily pick errors and loading errors with Section Leaders and Loading Manager and use these errors to find potential improvements.
* Take an active role in the implementation, embedding and ongoing effective maintenance of the ERP system.
* Support and champion process improvement projects.
Projects:
* Develop your team through skills training and coaching to ensure clear accountability and understanding to deliver the required standards to Health & Safety, Food Safety and product quality
* Embed daily tasks and accountabilities to empower the team to understand and deliver to the required standard.
* Attract and retain a qualified and motivated workforce, whilst fostering new ideas for improvements.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships key stakeholders across the business.
What you will need:
* IOSH certified (desirable)
* NEBOSH qualification (desirable)
* Proven experience as an operational manager in fast paced environments.
* Ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
* Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators, trends and action planning.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and operational systems.
