Thera South West Non-Executive Director Role
Thera South West is seeking a non-executive director. Although the role is unpaid, your contribution will directly influence the support and opportunities we provide to individuals with learning disabilities in the south west.

What are we looking for?

* Previous board experience is a plus, but we also welcome applications from first-time board members.
What will you be doing?
As part of the Thera Group, Thera South West is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities. Our mission is to empower individuals to live independently, develop new skills, and participate meaningfully in their communities.
Since 1998, the Thera Group has expanded into a UK-wide network supporting around 3,000 individuals through 14 not-for-profit companies. We uphold a person-led leadership model, with many senior leaders, both executive and non-executive, having lived experience of learning disabilities, ensuring our vision aligns closely with the needs of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote Independence: Oversee initiatives that support individuals in managing daily activities and living independently.
* Empower Learning and Growth: Guide programs that develop skills such as budgeting, employment, and volunteering.
* Strengthen Community Connections: Support individuals in making meaningful choices about their lives and communities.
* Shape Strategic Direction: Contribute to designing and refining strategies aligned with Thera’s vision for long-term success.
