TeacherActive is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to work across a range of welcoming and supportive schools in Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.
Overview
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SEND teams to support pupils with additional learning needs in their learning and development. This includes providing one-to-one and small group support, delivering tailored interventions, and helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons for SEND pupils
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs
* Assist students with a range of SEND, including learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
* Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
* Support behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour
* Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning materials and resources for individual needs
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children, particularly SEND (school or similar setting preferred)
* Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 in Education, Teaching, Childcare, or SEND – desirable but not essential)
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
