Contracts Manager – Specialist Contractor
My Client is a highly respected specialist contractor, who are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects and contribute to the continued success of the business.
The Role
As a Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and subcontractors, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring effective delivery across all aspects of the contract. The role will involve regular travel to sites across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Manage the delivery of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to handover.
* Coordinate site operations, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet programme, budget, and quality targets.
* Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental requirements.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing exceptional service.
* Provide leadership and support to project teams, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
* Manage project financials, variations, and reporting, ensuring profitability and commercial control.
* The role will be based 2-3 days in the office, together with conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
Requirements
* Extensive experience within a civil engineering contractor (essential).
* Proven track record managing multiple contracts successfully, ideally within the highways, or related infrastructure sectors.
* Strong understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and commercial management.
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and client-facing skills.
* Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide.
* Full UK driving licence.
