Position: Full-Time History Teacher
Location: Shipston, Stratford-Upon-Avon
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: To scale, based on experience
About The Role
The school are seeking a dedicated and professional teacher to deliver history lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards, assessing and tracking student progress, and providing support to help students develop their understanding of history. You will also contribute to departmental planning, participate in school-wide initiatives, and help foster a positive learning environment. The role involves differentiating lessons to cater to students of varying abilities and ensuring that all pupils are challenged and supported.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver well-structured, engaging history lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Prepare and plan lessons in line with the national curriculum and school policies
* Assess student work regularly and provide constructive feedback
* Track and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
* Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
* Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and department activities
* Contribute to extracurricular history clubs, trips, or events where appropriate
* Support the wider development of students' skills and interests in history
About You
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
* Experience teaching history at secondary level
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
* Committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment
