We’re one inclusive, global family that’s committed to innovation in aerospace Our Apprenticeship Programme Joining Ontic as an Apprentice offers the opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience while working toward a nationally recognised qualification in Engineering. Over the course of the programme, you’ll build a solid foundation in both Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, developing the technical and practical skills needed for a successful career in the aerospace industry. Your journey will begin at Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET), where you’ll spend your first year completing your academic and practical training. This provides you with the essential engineering principles and workshop experience needed to succeed. From your second year onward, you’ll join Ontic full-time, rotating across departments and gaining valuable exposure to maintenance, assembly, testing, and repair of aircraft components. Throughout the programme, you’ll be supported by experienced engineers, mentors, and development professionals who will guide you every step of the way. You’ll have access to dedicated coaching, structured workshops, and a mentor network to help you grow both technically and personally. From day one, you’ll be encouraged, supported, and empowered to take ownership of your learning and build a career that truly takes off with Ontic. What You’ll Be Doing: Observing, learning, and applying a wide range of engineering skills and processes. Assisting in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components. Supporting operational teams with inspection, testing, and assembly work. Learning how to use precision tools, technical drawings, and measuring equipment. Undertaking academic and practical training leading to a Level 3 or Level 4 Engineering qualification. Following all Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a safe workspace. Keeping detailed records of training and progress throughout the programme. Contributing to a clean, organised, and professional work environment. Who We’re Looking For: We’re looking for motivated, curious, and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about engineering and eager to begin a hands-on career in the aerospace industry. You’ll be a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working collaboratively in a technical environment and is committed to developing both your practical skills and technical knowledge. To join our 2026 Apprenticeship Programme, you’ll need to meet the following academic requirements: For Level 3 Apprenticeships: ·Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*–C / 9–4, including Maths and English, or be predicted to achieve this. ·A Science or technical-based subject is also desirable. For Level 4 Apprenticeships: ·An existing Level 3 qualification in Engineering; or ·A-Level Maths and Physics at grade C or above. Beyond qualifications, we’re looking for individuals who demonstrate: ·A genuine interest in engineering, aerospace, and technology. ·The ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, hands-on environment. ·Enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. ·Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality in everything you do. Qualification: Level 3 or Level 4 Apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic pathway). Training: Combination of classroom learning, workshop training, and on-the-job experience. Provider: Year 1 delivered through Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET), followed by full-time integration into Ontic.
