A successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Ipswich is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to join their department from January. * Ensuring all workshop machinery is maintained and safe to use (after appropriate training if required)
* Supporting students during practical tasks by providing guidance on safe tool use and correct procedures
* Maintaining stock levels, organising ordering, and monitoring usage of consumables
* Managing the safe storage and handling of tools, adhesives, metals, woods, plastics, textiles, and general workshop equipment
* Supporting staff with CAD/CAM resources, including laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNC equipment
* Helping with displays, coursework preparation, and the organisation of student project work
* Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety policies, including carrying out regular risk assessments and maintaining a clean, organised workspace
This role is ideal for someone who is practical, positive, and capable of managing both routine and more complex workshop tasks with confidence.
