Job Description
We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-driven Payroll Co-ordinator to join our Group Payroll Team within People Operations. This is a hybrid role, with office attendance required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You will play a key role in delivering an accurate, timely, and customer-focused payroll service to our employees, supporting multiple payrolls and reconciliation across 1,500 to 5,000 employees.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects such as acquisitions, systems implementations, and data migration.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAccurately process multiple monthly payrolls in line with SLAs, including new starters, leavers, and statutory absence calculations.\n\t\nManage end-to-end payroll reconciliation for 1,500 to 5,000 employees.\n\t\nAdminister and audit expense claims in line with company policy.\n\t\nProvide payslips, financial references, and statements of earnings to current and former employees.\n\t\nRespond to payroll-related queries via phone, email, ServiceNow, or in person.\n\t\nEnsure accurate PAYE and pension liability calculations and submissions in line with HMRC and TPR requirements.\n\t\nUpload net wages into banking systems and ensure timely processing of payments.\n\t\nComplete all month-end payroll activities and ensure data accuracy within HR/payroll systems.\n\t\nMaintain accurate records and prepare reports for Finance and auditing purposes.\n\t\nManage payroll-related tasks during acquisitions or business changes, including onboarding new entities and integrating employee data.\n\t\nSupport payroll systems upgrades, implementations, and data migrations as needed.\n\t\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth transition of payroll operations during system or structural changes.\n\t\nPromote compliance with data protection, employment law, and internal standards at all times.\n\t\nUphold the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive employee and business data.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nProven experience in a payroll team working with multiple payrolls and high-volume processing (1,500–5,000 employees).\n\t\nExperience with payroll/HR systems such as SD Worx, Cascade, or Dayforce.\n\t\nStrong understanding of payroll compliance, including PAYE, NI, statutory payments, and pension legislation.\n\t\nDemonstrated experience with system migrations, data imports, or acquisition integrations.\n\t\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.\n\t\nExperience in reconciling pension contributions and maintaining accurate records in line with The Pensions Regulator (TPR) guidelines.\n\t\nExcellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.\n\t\nStrong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused approach.\n\nWhat You’ll Get\n\nA hybrid working arrangement – with Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office.\n\t\nA supportive and collaborative working environment.\n\t\nOpportunities to work on projects that shape the future of payroll within the organisation.\n\t\nCareer development support and access to professional learning.\n\t\nThe chance to play a key role in a fast-paced, growing business
