Annual salary: up to £40,950.00 Building Surveyor Hybrid working – Yorkshire and Humber Full time, Permanent, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday Salary up to £40,950 per annum, plus, company vehicle & fuel card or car allowance, salary band depending on experience Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in four regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs. About the Role: As a Building Surveying within Mears, you will be working alongside a local team supporting Surveying activities and requirements of our Housing operations, ensuring all surveying procedures are being undertaken efficiently, in compliance with Company operating procedures and delivering best in class customer service, satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards. The Building Surveyor role is based within our Wakefield branch your main duties will be carrying out Fire Risk Assessment Reviews (FRA's) on a range of residential HMO's in order to ensure the property remains compliant, the role will involve highlighting risks and raising jobs on our internal MCM system, once the work has been entered you will need to appoint to a sub contractor and post inspect the work carried out, or if the Landlord chooses to carry out the work for themself a post inspection will also be required. Another aspect of the job is to carry out joint hand back surveys with the Landlord and agree damages to the property so our commercial team can offer a settlement. Travel to other regions maybe expected to meet business needs in order to support other regions for example to cover annual leave or to support when pinch points are critical. Role Criteria: Strong knowledge of building defects Proven track record in building surveying Excellent communication written and verbal Team player but ability to work alone Decisive decision making IT literate (Word, Excel) Qualification in building surveying would be desirable Ideally you have knowledge of Fire Risk Assessments All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
