The Activities Provider is responsible for delivering activities for residents on an individual and group basis which both stimulate and entertain using available resources and facilities. They will be directed by the Activity Coordinator or Registered Manager but expected to show initiative and work without direct supervision. They will also help to plan and organize the activities programme by getting to know the resident's requirements in order to deliver a meaningful and stimulating range of hobbies and pastimes.
Due to the nature of the role, being privy to confidential information relating to residents and staff, you need to be able to retain complete discretion and be tactful and diplomatic when dealing with or supporting your manager to deal with sensitive issues. The successful candidate will have a cheerful disposition, be willing to take on a challenge, be flexible, have a mature, can-do and problem-solving attitude.
This position is subject to two references acceptable to the company and an acceptable, enhanced DBS Disclosure.
Responsibilities
* Plan and facilitate engaging activities for residents in the care home, focusing on enhancing their well-being and social interaction.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to understand individual needs and preferences.
* Provide support and assistance to seniors, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
* Document and report on residents' participation and progress in activities, adapting approaches as necessary.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to integrate care plans with recreational activities.
Qualifications
* Experience in care home settings, particularly in assisted living and nursing homes
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents and their families
* Background in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care
* Proven track record of providing compassionate care and support to elderly individuals
* Relevant certifications in caregiving or related fields are a plus
