The Role: Accounts Senior
This is a key role within the accounts team, focused on the preparation of year-end accounts and tax returns for a wide range of clients. You will manage your own portfolio, liaise directly with clients, and work closely with managers and junior team members.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in public practice and prior experience as a sole trader or in a self-employed capacity this is essential for the role.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare statutory year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Complete both personal and corporate tax returns
* Liaise directly with clients, providing advice and maintaining strong relationships
* Review bookkeeping and VAT returns as required
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of work
* Provide guidance and support to junior colleagues
* Contribute to maintaining the firms high standard of service and client care
Requirements
* Private practice experience is essential
* Must have worked as a sole trader or in a self-employed capacity
* ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
* Strong skills in accounts and tax return preparation for varied clients
* Proficient in cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks)
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
* Professional, proactive, and detail-oriented
