Background
The introduction of the UK Medical Licensing Assessment in 2024/25 means that Birmingham Medical School needs to adopt a 2-stage change process to ensure our students are given the appropriate resources to have the opportunity to excel. The clinical years (years 3-5 of the 5-year course and years 2-4 of the GEC course) are in a process of change to enable learning to be reorganised, condensed and updated so that students can sit the applied knowledge test 4 months earlier than the current programme.
The Clinical Teaching Fellows will teach and contribute to the assessment of undergraduate medicine students supervised by senior members of staff who have ultimate responsibility.
Clinical Teaching Fellows are required to:
* Support subject leads in ensuring content and assessment are appropriate
* Facilitate small group teaching to augment a reduced clinical placement programme
Role Summary
The main focus of this role is to provide supporting clinical input to the undergraduate medical programme.
Clinical Teaching Fellows will be required to work with academic and clinical staff to:

There will also be the opportunity for the post-holder to undertake a project (with an academic supervisor) from a list of options available for the current academic year.
This role does not have any line management responsibility.
