Are you passionate about improving understanding, acceptance and inclusion for autistic children and young people? Our Autism Inclusion Team (AIT) is seeking to appoint a part-time Communication Support Worker – Trainer to deliver high‑quality autism awareness, acceptance and inclusion training across Staffordshire. You will work independently across a range of educational and community settings, from Early Years to Post‑16, supporting schools, professionals and parents/carers to develop autism‑friendly practice. You will also contribute to the development of AIT’s social media and digital engagement to promote training and inclusion initiatives. A full, current driving licence is essential due to travel across the county. Main Responsibilities In this varied and rewarding role, you will: Deliver effective, high-quality autism awareness and inclusion training Provide advice and training on autism strategies, reasonable adjustments and their implementation in education, home and community settings Design and develop bespoke training packages to meet identified needs Work collaboratively with schools, families, and multi‑agency professionals to promote inclusive practice Provide advice and guidance to support the social and emotional needs of autistic children and young people Promote Autism Inclusion Team training offers to a range of audiences Build capacity across settings by delivering training to diverse groups Contribute to the development and maintenance of the team’s social media presence Undertake occasional in‑setting support work with pupils, where required The Ideal Candidate You will bring: Level 3 (or equivalent) education and accredited Autism Awareness training GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Experience supporting autistic children or young people in education or community settings Specialist, up‑to‑date knowledge of autism, inclusion approaches and SEND legislation Experience delivering training to a variety of stakeholders Confidence managing social media and digital engagement Excellent organisation, ICT skills and flexibility Closing date: 17th May 2026 Interviews: 3rd June 2026 - in person at Staffordshire Place 1.
