Production Technician
Near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
£26,000 to £28,000
Full Time, 40 Hours Per Week
Crem Recruitment is working on behalf of a high-tech manufacturing business based in Suffolk.
They design and build specialist laboratory equipment in-house. Precision assemblies. Technical products. Small components where detail matters and quality is everything.
They are now looking for a hands-on Production Technician to join their operations team.
This is not a desk-based engineering role. It is practical, methodical and focused on building things properly. If you take pride in neat wiring, clean soldering and assemblies that work the first time, this will feel familiar.
Your day-to-day work will include:
• Connecting wiring harnesses
• Small connector crimping and soldering
• Mechanical assembly
• Assembly of small tubing and fittings
• In-process inspection and quality checks
• Supporting fault finding on electro-mechanical assemblies
• Monitoring stock levels within manufacturing cells
• Identifying slow processes or quality concerns and reporting them appropriately
You will report to the Operations Manager and be part of a busy, deadline-driven production environment. There is also a genuine opportunity to contribute ideas for improving assembly methods and processes. This is a team that values practical input.
What they are looking for
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a production-based role
• Experience working with mechanical assemblies
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• A structured, organised approach to work
• Confidence using MS Office
• A willingness to learn and develop within a technical manufacturing setting
Desirable experience includes electro-mechanical fault finding and a solid understanding of materials.
What’s on offer
• Salary between £26,000 and £28,000, depending on experience
• Full-time position, 40 hours per week
• Stable role within a specialist manufacturing environment
• Opportunity to work on high-spec technical equipment
The business is located just outside Bury St Edmunds, so owning transport is essential due to the rural setting.
This role would suit an experienced assembler, production technician or electro-mechanical fitter who wants to work in a structured, technical environment where quality matters.
If you enjoy building things properly and being part of a close-knit production team, this could be a strong next step
