You will be electrically qualified and open to learning new things. Knowledge of the water industry would be advantageous but not essential. We’ll provide you with training and the opportunity to build on your existing knowledge in areas such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), instrumentation and controls.
You will play a key role in keeping the assets at our pumping stations, reservoirs, or production sites in good working order so that we can keep the water flowing for our customers. Few things are more important in our communities than reliable access to clean water for drinking.
You'll attend water treatment and production sites to carry out repairs, respond to failures, monitor contractor activities, and repair faults. You'll maintain and install plant and water treatment equipment including pumps, motors, chemical analysers, and gas dosing equipment.
You will normally work 37 hours each week, from 7.30 a.m. to 15.30 p.m., Monday through Friday. As a critical service, you’re needed to work 1 in 6 standby shifts to respond to incidents after hours and on weekends.
Expect to earn between £38,000 and £47,000 on average, depending on the level of experience and overtime completed. This includes a basic salary ranging from £35,316 to £46,043, as well as a £2,000-per-year average allowance for participating in the standby rota. When on standby, you will be paid overtime for any call outs.

What will you be responsible for delivering?
5. Responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of Electrical plant and water treatment related equipment including several types of pumps, motors, gas dosing equipment and chemical analysers to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our production works and associated sites.
6. Take part in a standby roster providing out of hours assistance to the operational area.
7. Aid other members of the Production team with Confined Space Entries. Breathing apparatus training will be provided.
8. Supervise the work of Contractors and external service providers.
9. Complete all necessary administration associated with reactive and planned maintenance work including updates onto our business and work management systems.
10. Work in line with company policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
11. Help to complete routine administration (e.g., timesheets, health and safety forms, vehicle record sheets etc.)
12. Help to monitor and maintain security of production site.
13. Update and maintain site manuals.
14. Issue Permits to Work where required.
15. Contribute and assist with engineering capital works as and when required.
16. Required to drive Company vehicles which may also include the towing of plant and equipment.
17. Ensure sites are left in a clean and tidy condition upon completion of works.
What do you bring to the role?

19. Hold a clean driver’s licence.
20. You are qualified to City and Guilds, HNC or hold a relevant electrical technical qualification.
21. Previous experience fault finding and problem-solving electrical equipment.
22. Highly organised individual with the ability to work under your own direction.
23. Confident using IT and computers to be able to update records and reports
