The design lead will play a vital role in delivering both electronic and physical security systems design packages. You'll collaborate closely with our BIM/CAD Technicians and the technical team throughout the process, confidently guiding cross-discipline coordination and making informed decisions as client documentation evolves. It's important to ensure that everything aligns perfectly with baseline requirements. Responsibilities Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the client, with a clear understanding of project nuances and expectations. Identify and resolve design issues, offering solutions and improvements. Approach the project, considering client requirements, installation efficiencies, and overall delivery impact. Produce base “spots and dots” design layouts. Conduct detailed ironmongery reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance. Coordinate with other architectural engineering teams, such as Telecoms, to gather and clarify cross‑discipline requirements. Proactively drive the project forward by defining information needs, timelines, and dependencies. Work closely with the BIM manager/lead to align on backgrounds, layouts, cable measurements, duct routing, and other model‑related details. Act as the primary point of contact for all security‑related queries. Interpret and adapt to evolving client documentation and design direction. Ensure local regulatory and project‑specific requirements are incorporated into the design. Perform design validation and drawing reviews, identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies. Demonstrate strong understanding of design matrices and other key technical design components. Requirements Demonstrated experience as a Security Project Engineer in a Data Centre setting. Familiarity with CAD is a plus, and experience with Revit would be ideal. Proficient in Excel and Outlook. Excellent technical skills and a knack for solving problems. You should be able to work independently and manage your time effectively. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to high standards, with careful attention to detail.
