At Cedar Grove, we’re more than a small animal hospital - we’re a centre for excellence, combining high‑quality first‑opinion care with an expanding referral caseload. This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step in their career, shaping the future of our hospital while enjoying the support of an exceptional team.
You’ll enjoy a diverse caseload, covering a full range of procedures including soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics (including TPLO), spinal surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, dentals, dermatology, complex fractures, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, endoscopy, and internal medicine. With access to CT and MRI, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in advanced diagnostics and surgery. If you have an interest in referrals, particularly orthopaedics or neurology, you’ll have every opportunity to explore and grow this side of your clinical career.
We know that delivering great care starts with feeling supported and balanced. Our full‑time rota is based on 4 days per week (variable hours) with a share in our 1:6 weekend rota. Our OOH service is covered by VetsNow. We’re genuinely flexible – whether you’re looking for full‑time, part‑time, or a bespoke rota, we’ll tailor your schedule to suit your lifestyle and career stage.
Our purpose‑built, RCVS‑accredited hospital in South Belfast is designed to deliver the highest standard of care. With over 60 years of trusted service, we’re proud to be a long‑established, progressive practice offering an excellent working environment and facilities that rival referral centres. We are a small animal‑only hospital, supported by a visiting cardiology specialist and in‑house certificate holders in both Surgery and Medicine.
At Cedar Grove, you’ll join a close‑knit, collaborative team of nine Veterinary Surgeons, 15 exceptionally skilled RVNs (many with advanced qualifications), and a strong team of support staff. Our culture is built on clinical excellence, mentorship, and wellbeing. With certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine and others currently pursuing advanced qualifications, we actively encourage professional growth.
