We are currently recruiting for a Workforce Planning Administrator to work for Thames Valley Police at their Police Headquarters. Location: Kidlington Job Type: Temporaery until March 2026 initially Salary: £13.65 per hour Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week This is a Hybrid role, with 2 days in the office and three days working from home Overall Purpose of the Role The overall purpose of the role is to provide a professional business support service within the People Directorate to both internal and external customers. This includes support across Recruitment, Resourcing, Employee Administration, Learning & Development, and Service Desk functions, ensuring service protocols are met or exceeded within agreed deadlines. Key Accountabilities Deliver a high-quality, confidential service and advice through various communication channels, aligned with Force policies and procedures, ensuring accountability for service standards. Manage and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders, resolving issues efficiently and driving continuous service improvement. Accurately input and update data on Force ICT systems; perform quality assurance checks on existing information to support the provision of management reports. Provide guidance and QA support as needed. Assist in producing management information to support effective performance management and decision-making. Analyze data impacting service delivery and recommend improvements. Provide administrative support for specific projects, including research, data collection, and preparation of information for meetings. Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience Willingness to attain or currently working towards NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service or Business Administration. Commitment to ongoing professional development in relevant fields such as HR or Learning & Development (e.g., Level 3 Certificate). Good standard of education, including GCSEs (Grade 9-1/A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths. Proven experience in a demanding administrative role, preferably within HR or L&D. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; confident at an intermediate level and willing to learn new systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage confidently and professionally with staff, senior managers, and the public. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively, demonstrating flexibility and resilience. Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends as required. Desirable Skills & Experience Experience with Recruitment, Resourcing, and Planning processes, including shortlisting and a good understanding of employment law and diversity best practices.
