They are committed to sustainable construction practices, innovation, and continuous investment in people and technology.\n\nYour new role\n\nOur client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their busy road surfacing division based in Liverpool.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial and estimating aspects of a range of surfacing projects, ensuring financial control, value engineering, and effective cost management from tender stage through to final account.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for surfacing and associated works.\n\nManaging and monitoring project costs from start to completion.\n\nUndertaking site visits and liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.\n\nIdentifying commercial risks and opportunities on projects.\n\nManaging subcontractor packages and payments.\n\nProviding monthly CVRs and forecasting.\n\nSupporting the commercial manager and operations team with live project information.\n\nEnsuring all work complies with current health, safety, and environmental legislation.\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nPrevious experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator role within the civil engineering or highways sector, preferably with road surfacing exposure.\n\nKnowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract.\n\nA solid understanding of commercial and financial management in construction.\n\nStrong analytical and numeracy skills.\n\nExcellent communication and negotiation abilities.\n\nProficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.\n\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nWhat you get in return:\n\nIn return, you'll join a highly respected business offering real career progression, training opportunities, and long-term job security.
