An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to step into a rewarding training-focused role.
This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with CNC milling and lathe experience who is passionate about developing others and helping to shape the next generation of engineers. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality technical training to apprentices within a modern training school environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Apprentice Team Leader, you will:
* Deliver high-quality training in CNC and manual machining, including milling, turning, and surface grinding
* Teach CNC programming and machine operation across a variety of materials and techniques
* Support apprentices in developing strong engineering foundations and practical skills
* Promote and enforce health, safety, and good working practices
* Ensure apprentices understand engineering drawings, specifications, and processes
* Step in to cover leadership responsibilities during the Team Leader’s absence
* Contribute to the development of future training programmes (e.g. metrology, technical drawing interpretation)
What We’re Looking For
* Industrial experience in CNC milling and turning (essential)
* Experience programming and operating CNC machines and lathes
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) apprenticeship in engineering
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Strong communication skills with a passion for mentoring and developing others
* Well-organised, methodical, and detail-oriented approach
* A patient, approachable, and motivating attitude
Previous training or coaching experience is not essential.
