Responsibilities
- Overseeing and assisting all aspects of nursing care and activities within the home.
- Creating and updating individual care plans for residents, maintaining clear, accurate and up‑to‑date medication records.
- Maintaining correct staffing levels through efficient management of rotas to ensure adequate staffing is always in place.
- Providing day‑to‑day support and guidance to the team, promoting residents’ independence, choice and dignity.
- Building lasting relationships with residents and the people they care about, fostering a sense of community.
- Developing strong relationships with local partners, liaising with them and raising the care home’s profile in the local area and beyond.
Qualifications
- A Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin and a genuine commitment to adhering to the NMC Codes of Conduct and expanding professional development.
- Demonstrated understanding of the benefits that the right nursing care can bring to residents’ lives, championing independence, choice and dignity by delivering the highest quality care.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of tissue viability, infection control and care planning.
- An effective communicator able to build strong and honest relationships with residents and their families.
- Natural leadership skills, ready to share clinical experience, leading and mentoring a team, delegating effectively and promoting excellent customer service and relationships.
- Excellent time‑management skills, able to prioritise workload effectively.
- A respectful and compassionate team player with a belief in giving personal best.
Location and Salary
Ashley Park Care Home, The Street, West Clandon, Guildford GU4 7SU.
Up to £58,269 per annum – depending on experience. Permanent – 42 hours per week. 1½ shift a week on the floor (18 hours); the rest of the time will be supernumerary. Monday to Friday with occasional night visits or weekend work that may be required.
