Job overview
We are looking for a Band 4 STR Worker to join the Waltham Forest Early Intervention in Psychosis service. You will provide support to service users based in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. You will need experience of working with people who have mental health issues in the community. Your role as STR worker will be part of the wider multi disciplinary team and support the community treatment of people who develop first episode psychosis and their families and carers.
Main duties of the job
Be able to demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills especially when handling conflict and change and should have the appropriate skills to facilitate the resolution of difficulties.
Be be able to work autonomously in the community and use their own initiative under the guidance of qualified staff.
Able to effectively communicate with patients, team and other agencies.
Ability to interact with clients in crisis or distress and empathy with vulnerable people.
Ability to work flexibly as services are provided within a variety of locations and venues, including within the service users home and wider community settings.
Responsible for providing support to the care co-ordinator, in the implementation of a recovery focused care plan for an allocated number of individual service users.
Carry a caseload of comprised of 1:1 work and group work under supervision of senior staff.
Support the implementation of EIP group work.
Motivated to develop relationships with community resources and share information with the team.
Work closely with service users families too which is an essential part of EIP's philosophy.
Provide Psychoeducation to service users and carers to support recovery and social inclusion.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).
