Title
Purpose of Role
As a Mechanical Technician, your primary focus involves providing comprehensive mechanical assistance in the creation, assembly, and testing of custom-designed hydrogen equipment. You play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless production and functionality of mechanical systems within our solutions in the renewable energy sector. Taking pride in the accuracy and precision of your work, you strive for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Execute precise assembly procedures for custom-designed hydrogen equipment.
* Skilled execution of pipe bending techniques as per design specifications, including small bore tubing and high-pressure pipework.
* Proficiency with pneumatic control systems, copper pipework for cooling systems, pumps, and hydraulics.
* Ensure accuracy and quality in assembling mechanical components.
* Collaborate with design teams to interpret technical specifications and implement design changes.
* Conduct comprehensive testing on mechanical systems, including nitrogen purging and pressure testing.
* Understand and work with hydraulic systems and pneumatics.
* Perform testing and performance evaluations on mechanical systems.
* Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues during testing phases.
* Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
* Work with engineers and designers to address mechanical challenges and improve system efficiency.
* Provide feedback for continuous improvement of mechanical designs and processes.
* Adhere to safety protocols and participate in safety training.
* Maintain housekeeping standards and take pride in the workplace.

Person Specification
Skills
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician.
* Experience with small bore tubing, pipework, and pressure testing.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Self-starter with initiative.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Experience in small bore pipe work/pipe bending is advantageous.
* Familiarity with mechanical assembly and testing tools and equipment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Excellent proactive communication skills.
* Strong teamwork abilities.
Qualifications
HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or time-served apprenticeship. IOSH Working Safely certification is advantageous but not essential.
