Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant job in Bristol?

Axcis Education is working in partnership with a leading alternative provision in Bristol that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. We are currently seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 4 students, helping them to succeed both academically and emotionally.

About the Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
•Support students 1:1 and in small groups, tailoring learning to meet their individual needs.
•Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and re-engage with education.
•Use strategies such as de-escalation and positive behaviour management to create a safe, supportive environment.
•Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning plans.
•Act as a mentor and positive role model, building trusting relationships with students.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant in Bristol who is:
•Experienced in supporting young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or additional learning needs.
•Resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
•Empathetic, compassionate, and confident in building strong relationships.
•Ideally trained in Team Teach or with a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) – but full training can be provided.
