We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with relevant experience and skills to join our Monitoring Laboratory based in Leeds. You will be directly contributing to the Environment Agency’s response to climate change by working within a small team carrying out the analysis of solid and liquid environmental samples.

Responsibilities
* Receiving deliveries of samples and goods coming into the laboratory
* Registration of samples using the laboratory computer system
* Provide support to the team and customers
* Undertake daily quality checks of equipment for the team
* Management and storage of samples including sample logistics and disposal
* Keeping work areas tidy
* Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to
* Carrying out routine laboratory tasks such as routine calibrations, stock control and making analytical standards
Qualifications
* Comfortable with the use of IT including Microsoft Office – training will be given on software required for the role
* Self‑motivated with a close attention to detail and an ability to follow procedures to achieve results
* Excellent communication skills
* A team player who enjoys helping others and building and sustaining relationships
* Strong customer focus
* Working to tight deadlines and an ability to prioritise workloads
* Problem‑solving skills are preferable
* Experience of working within a quality standard or within a UKAS accredited laboratory is desirable but not essential
Training & Support
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate. You will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support you need to succeed in your new role.
