Job Title: Asbestos Technical Manager
Location: Remote (this role will involve occasional nationwide travel to client sites, including their offices in the North West and the South of England)
Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience

We are working with a successful UKAS accredited asbestos consultancy that, due to continued growth, is seeking an experienced and skilled Asbestos Technical Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing the technical elements of asbestos related projects and will be responsible for managing and maintaining the UKAS accreditation, ensuring the company upholds the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key responsibilities:
* Maintaining and managing the company’s UKAS accreditation, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and regulations
* Ensuring the accuracy of technical records, reports, and documentation within the quality management system to support compliance and reporting requirements.
* Delivering training and participating in inductions to support the onboarding of new staff
* Coordinating UKAS inspections, audits, and corrective actions, ensuring the company’s accreditation status remains intact
* Providing technical guidance and support to Asbestos Surveyors, Asbestos Analysts and the wider team
* Attending the clients’ various offices to collaborate with the team and ensure quality standards are met
* Carrying out regular visits to asbestos laboratories to evaluate and maintain adherence to quality standards and industry regulations
* Conducting site audits on Asbestos Surveyors/Analysts on the clients’ various sites when required
* Submitting monthly reports to the senior management team on quality standards and the ongoing UKAS accreditation process
* Keeping up to date with industry developments, changes in legislation, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate:
* Prior experience in the asbestos consultancy sector, including experience in a technical or quality role.
* P401, P402, P403, P404 qualifications or equivalent (P405 & CCP/CoCA not essential but would be preferred)
* In depth experience and understanding of UKAS accreditation processes
* Extensive experience in overseeing UKAS accreditation processes for an asbestos company, including direct communication with UKAS representatives during audit procedures
* Flexibility to travel nationwide (although this is a remote position, there will be a requirement to travel to the clients’ various offices and to attend multiple sites for auditing purposes).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
