Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 5 Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) to join our Anaesthetic Team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. This post requires a recognised anaesthetic course/module qualification. The successful candidate will join a dedicated, hardworking team and develop skills in both adult and children's perioperative journeys, gain experience in Maternity care and outlying areas such as MRI and Resus. They will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, assist in the management and organisation of clinical and satellite areas, implement improvements, and participate in education and development of staff and students. Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence‑based patient care. Clinical expertise is utilised during all phases of the peri‑operative period. Skilled assistance is provided in the surgical care of the patient. These skills can also be employed in other areas of Theatre, such as Anaesthetics with the recognised qualification, and in recovery and in other satellite areas such as X‑Ray and Obstetrics.

Qualifications and/Or Knowledge

* NMC/HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner at Degree level or equivalent
* Accredited level 5 certificate/module in anaesthetic care (if applying for anaesthetic role)


Experience

* Knowledge of the role within a theatre environment
* Experience in a wide variety of clinical specialities within the operating department (Desirable)


Aptitude and Abilities

* Able to consistently demonstrate high quality patient care
* Effective communication skills
* Able to assume delegated responsibilities within a multi‑disciplinary setting while recognising own dexterity limitations
* Motivated
