28.8 hours per week (to be worked within Monday-Friday 8.30am–5pm)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self‑motivated person wishing to develop skills working within the Speech and Language Therapy team, providing a service to adults with communication disorders mainly due to stroke. You will join a friendly and dynamic team of 14 Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, working with adults in the North Highland Area. The SLTs work within a multi‑disciplinary team based in the Stroke Unit, and the Neuro‑rehabilitation unit in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
The post will be based at Raigmore Hospital but there may also be out‑patient sessions in Raigmore and community sessions across other locations in Inverness and the surrounding area.
The post will involve:
* Carrying out routine therapy with patients under SLT guidance
* Producing resources
* Maintaining, updating and cleaning resources and equipment
* Liaising and joint working with other members of the multi‑disciplinary team
* Organising Telehealth appointments and use of Near Me
Training will be provided and there will be opportunity for CPD and attending team meetings and special interest days. You will work under the instruction of the SLT Lead for Stroke and other specialist SLTs within the team.
This post requires experience or evidence of a special interest in the field of Stroke and communication. SVQ 3 in an appropriate subject or evidence of an equivalent level of knowledge.
Good communication and organisation skills. Good IT skills e.g. working with iPads, producing resources, use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word etc. Ideally you should hold a driving licence.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
