Multi Site Technician

The Vacancy
Job Purpose:
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations within a specified region.
To carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs to a range of electrical, mechanical and building assets in ASDA stores in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the specified Company Health and Safety procedures.
* Although not an exhaustive list, this is likely to include bakery and catering equipment, mechanical and electrical systems and assets, lighting systems, building fabric, water services and other static and portable electrical equipment. General maintenance and first look is required for all HVAC/Fire and Security and electrical and general issues.
Key Accountabilities
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and ASDA colleagues.
2. To complete all necessary PPM’s and ensure all PPM remedial tasks are accurately logged and
3. actioned, ensuring legal compliance
4. To read and comply with updated company briefing documents as required
5. To supervise the Maintenance Assistant (MA), provide regular coaching and support them to perform their role in line with company processes.
6. To respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where required.
7. To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and contract SLA’s
8. To order spare parts as required to carry out planned and re-active repairs
9. To identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly escalate to Regional Engineering Supervisor (RES) of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
10. Where plant and equipment are non-repairable, to make recommendations to the RES regarding suitable replacement.
11. To communicate with Asda Store Management teams and RES of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
12. To manage the attendance of subcontractors with the RES and assist ASDA Management Teams in the management of subcontractors’ on site.
13. To carry out surveys and complete reports as required
14. To carry out alterations and installations within your technical competence and in accordance with current specifications.
15. To complete general repairs and maintenance to ASDA store sites as designated by the RES,
16. e.g. repairs to the building fabric and surfaces.
17. To assist other MSTs in other Stores/Regions when requested to do so by the RES
18. To recruit and select suitably qualified and experienced MA to ensure continuous service delivery in stores; following company processes and policies in recruitment.
19. To liaise with project teams on store alterations, modernisations, and other relevant works.
20. To ensure all tools and equipment necessary (as per company tool list) to complete maintenance and repairs are always available and serviceable.
21. To maintain accurate administration as well as City applications, recording of jobs live and effective utilisation of time.
22. To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments, which may include overnight stays.
23. Ensure Asset database is accurate and current for each site
24. To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
25. To work with company and ASDA colleagues to ensure quality standards are always maintained.
26. Ensure current compliance documentation required for relevant allocated tasks are completed to required quality standards.
27. Ensure that you and your team attend and complete all mandatory training, including induction programmes and eLearning modules within the timescales required.
28. To provide on the job coaching and support to the team to ensure they are able to perform to the required standards within their role.
29. To deliver technical coaching solutions to the standards required, ensuring participation of trainees through active encouragement and support of learning
30. Complete all induction and training administration, including probationary reviews to ensure that the team are fully competent, and aware of their performance.
31. To participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (min 1 week in 4) and to complete general repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during Out of Hours Standby

33. To be first response for equipment such as Fire and Security/ HVAC/electrical and general issues
34. To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the RES, or other City Management Team.

36. To interview / recruit / oversee / manage the Maintenance Assistant/Mobile Maintenance Assistant and Multi site Maintenance Assistant as recruited against the stores they cover.

45. BTEC Diploma in Electrical Installation
46. BTEC Diploma in Electrical Maintenance
47. NB Both 2330 and 2356 is what you would expect from someone that has completed a full electrical apprenticeship recently
48. (You also get others that are more theoretical biased courses but if the individual has the correct work experience can be appropriate eg, ONC/HNC Electrical Engineering BTEC certificate in Electrical Engineering, C&G Certificate in Electrical Engineering)
