Join to apply for the Bank Dietitian - Band 6 role at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is a bank/vacancy role inviting experienced dietitians to join a pool for flexible shifts at GHC sites within commuting distance.
The post holder will be able to work independently, have experience of working clinically at band 6 level, and be able to work at short notice. A key requirement is demonstrable experience in one or more of the following services:
* Diabetes (predominantly Type 2)
* Macmillan Cancer Rehabilitation (weight management, nutrition support, gastro)
* Community Hospital Inpatients (Stroke and general medical wards)
* Complex Care at Home (Nutrition support, Diabetes, Gastro)
* Cardiac Rehabilitation
* Mental Health Services (Inpatient Units and Eating Disorders)

Successful applicants may be required to drive to sites around Gloucestershire; ideally you will hold a UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes, especially to support Diabetes, Macmillan and Complex Care at Home services.
Main duties of the job
* Provide expert dietetic and nutritional support for patients in the home setting, via telephone or using technology (Attend Anywhere), to improve resilience and enable longer periods at home.
* Work autonomously, managing a specialist, complex and varied caseload of patients with multiple co-morbidities, who may be frail and have cognitive or memory problems.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist dietetic interventions, using evidence-based client-centered principles based on nutritional diagnosis including interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical condition and diet history.
Qualification, training & experience requirements
Essential
* BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics or MSc/Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
* Registered with the Health Care Professionals Council
* Extensive experience in providing specialist Dietetic advice in one or more relevant areas
* Evidence of postgraduate training relevant to the post and continuing CPD
* Counselling skills or/and Motivational Interviewing qualification
* Able to prepare nutritional guidance sheets, teaching materials and other dietetic service literature
* Experience of MDT / multi-agency working
Desirable
* Member of British Dietetic Association
* Substantial experience at Band 6 in chosen area of Dietetics
IT
* Ability to use Microsoft applications daily
* Experience of using electronic patient record systems (SystmOne/RiO)
