About the Company - Our client, a well-established retail business based in Manchester City Centre, are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead their finance function and support strategic decision-making.
Reporting into an experienced Finance Director, this role will manage a small team with oversight of all accounting activities across the group, including accounting operations across the transactional finance team.
Key Responsibilities -
* Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and month end reporting.
* Manage and provide leadership to the finance team, ensuring efficient workflow and development of team members.
* Have full oversight of all accounting activities across the group, including accounting operations across the transactional finance team.
* Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
* Manage cash flow, risk assessment, and cost control measures.
* Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth.
* Key audit stakeholder management, being a key point of contact with our auditors and allocating queries appropriately throughout the business.
* Other ad hoc projects as and when required assisting finance and other departments.
Key Skills and Experience -
* Proven experience in a finance leadership role.
* Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) required.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Experience in managing and mentoring a finance team, including oversight of transactional finance operations.
* Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
