What you’ll be doing

Our purpose is driven by our passion for food: together, we serve and help every customer.

You’ll run the shift during the day, managing your team’s performance and time, demonstrating a decisive, organized, and inclusive approach. Reporting to the Store Manager, you and other managers will plan shift patterns, product availability, and busy times to ensure essential products are available and operations run smoothly. At the end of each shift, you'll give a thorough handover to the next Manager.

We’ll give you the time and space to do this properly because when our teams work well together, our customers notice.

Who you are

This role is a great way to start your management career in retail or to develop your existing skills. Our customers always seek that extra special touch in-store, and your ability to guide, motivate, and inspire your team will be key to achieving that.

Our structure provides clear management presence across opening hours so that customers and colleagues can always ask for help or offer solutions. You’ll be accountable for making everything as good as it can be. As a Customer and Trading Manager, you'll have the opportunity to work your full-time hours over four days. How you can develop

Upon joining, you'll receive a clear induction, orientation, and a training plan tailored to your needs, developed alongside your manager. They will support and coach you to deliver great performance while giving you opportunities to develop further.

Salary depends on your experience, store size, complexity, and location. We also offer a range of benefits, including:

* Condensed working hours over 4 days
* 10% discount after four weeks, increasing to 15% on Fridays and Saturdays at Sainsbury’s, and 15% at Argos every payday
